Police seek witnesses following Derby assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an assault in Derby.

At around 3.15am on Friday, May 22, a 23-year-old man was stood with a friend on St Peters Street in Derby, close to the junction with Victoria Street, when he was punched in the face by an unknown man and knocked to the floor.

The victim was suffered a fractured skull during the assault and was taken to Accident and Emergency to be seen.

The offender was described as white, around 5ft 11ins tall, with short dark hair and ages in his early twenties.

Police believe that there may have been several people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the assault.
