Derby man charged with Christmas Day burglary of city centre shop

A 19 year-old Derby man has been charged with burglary after a city centre shop was broken-in to on Christmas Day morning. 

The incident happened at around 4.45am on the morning of Christmas Day when a break-in was reported at Millets on East Street, Derby. 

When our officers conducted an area search, Dillon Shaw of no fixed abode, was found carrying ten North Face coats and after he tried to run from officers he was caught and arrested. 

Mr Shaw was later interviewed then charged with burglary and will appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 23.
