Sixteen year-old boy arrested and interviewed about Derby's River Garden tourist robbery.

Posted on 24th December 2018

Earlier this month one of our officers asked for information after a tourist from Singapore was robbed of her phone on Derby’s River Gardens.

A 16 year-old boy from Derby has now been arrested and interviewed about the matter and the officer has thanked the public for their help in identifying him.

The incident happened at around 1pm on the afternoon of Thursday, November 22.

The officer dealing with the incident is PC Steve Broadhurst from the Derby City Safer Neighbourhood Team, who said: “I would like to thank the public for the response to our appeal for information.

“A sixteen year-old boy from Derby has now been arrested, interviewed and the circumstances have been reported to the youth offending team for a prosecution decision.”

Another 16 year-old boy was also interviewed and released without charge.

We are not able to name either boy for legal reasons.
