Police in Mackworth issue images after man in mobility scooter is attacked by Rottweiler

Posted on 12th September 2017

Our officers from Mackworth Safer Neighbourhood Team have issued CCTV images after a man in a mobility scooter was attacked by a dog.

The incident happened at around 9.15pm on Monday, September 4 outside the Nisa convenience store on Humbleton Drive, Mackworth, Derby.

The 49-year old man was outside the store when it is alleged that the rottweiler type dog tried to pull him off his mobility scooter. The man received a deep laceration to his thigh as a result of the attack.

Officers would like to speak to the person in the images about the incident.

Sergeant Mark Preston, who is in charge of the team, said: “The incident is particularly nasty as the victim was not in the best of positions to defend himself. He has suffered an injury to his leg that required hospital treatment.

“We would like to speak to the person in the images and so would ask that they, or anyone or knows them make contact with us.”

If you think you can help, please call PCSO Adrian Harper from the team on 101 quoting reference number 17000380329.
