New cop hits the beat in Mackworth and Morley

Posted on 5th July 2018
PC Emma Madden

Our Mackworth and Morley Safer Neighbourhood Team have a new police officer on its beat.

PC Emma Madden joined the team a few weeks ago replacing Kris Sekhar who has moved over to Erewash.

Emma is an experienced officer having joined Derbyshire police 11 years ago. She joins the team from the Roads Policing Unit but has also worked in Long Eaton and Cotton Lane police station in Derby.

She lives in Derby and has an unusual historic link with Mackworth, she explains: “When I told my grandma that I was going to be working in Mackworth she told me that when she went in to labour with my Mum, my grandad had to be called away from the building site of the then new shops on Prince Charles Avenue.

“I am really pleased to be joining the Mackworth and Morley policing team. I have already been out on the beat and meeting lots of people.

“Already I can feel the strong community spirit and am looking forward to tackling some of the issues.”

One of Emma’s first priorities is to bring her road’s policing experience to help tackle the problem of nuisance off-road motorbikes causing anti-social behaviour in the area.

If you would like to speak to Emma or any of the team about policing issues in Mackworth or Morley contact them on 101 or send them a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website www.derbyshire.police.uk/Contact-Us
