A new Sergeant has taken over the running of two Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in Derby North policing section.
Sergeant Mark Preston who takes over from Sergeant Rob Wilson is now in charge of the teams which cover the Allestree and Darley and Mackworth and Morley neighbourhoods.
Mark who has been a police officer for more than 19 years started his career as a Constable in Derby and was promoted to Sergeant in 2004. He has since worked in the Intelligence Unit and front line at Derby West policing section.
Mark has gained much experience over the years in his previous roles and looks forward to leading the Safer Neighbourhood teams.
He said: “My aims and priorities are to positively tackle crime and anti-social behaviour along with ensuring the neighbourhood team provides a reassuring visible police presence to the community.
“Together we aim to maintain and develop our links with the community and partners to tackle local issues and where possible, seek long term solutions.
“It is important for us to know what is affecting the community so I would like to encourage them to speak to us and then work with us to resolve the issues.”
