A new Sergeant is leading the Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in part of Derby North policing section.  Nick-Beeston

Sgt. Nick Beeston, has been a police officer for 12 years and has now taken over the reins from Lauren Woods who has moved to St Mary’s Wharf as Reactive Inspector.

Sgt. Beeston is now responsible for the policing teams which cover Oakwood, Derwent, Chaddesden and Spondon.

Nick joined the force in 2002, starting his career with the Reactive Team in South Derbyshire before moving to a Safer Neighbourhood role in Newhall and Midway.

After performing Acting Sergeant duties for around 18 months, Nick was promoted to Sergeant in 2012 and stationed at Derby North.

Sgt. Beeston said:” My last role involved engaging with the community during the late evening and early hours allowing them to safely enjoy their night out.

“I’m now looking forward to being part of an enthusiastic team who work in the heart of the community.

“I want to continue with the good work that is already taking place within these four neighbourhoods and identify and address the issues that matter to the local community and deal with them in a positive and robust manner.”
