We are appealing for witnesses after car tyres were slashed in the Stockbrook area of Derby.

The offences happened between 6.15pm and 6.30pm last Thursday, January 5, when at least six sets of tyres were slashed along a route which included Harrison Street, Dean Street, Westbury Street and Bedford Street.

The incident is being investigated by PC Rich Barker from our Abbey Safer Neighbourhood Team, who has issued the following description of two men he would like to speak to in connection with the offences:

  • A white man, about 5ft 10ins tall, described as being in his early or mid-20s, wearing a thick, dark coloured coat that appeared to be orange coloured inside the hood
  • An Asian man, also about 5ft 10ins tall, described as being in his late teens to early 20 years of age.

PC Barker said: “There does not appear to be any motive for this criminal damage and yet we are now dealing with several victims who are faced with costly repair bills for their slashed tyres.

“We are therefore very keen to speak to anyone who has any information about this incident or indeed has suffered similar damage but has not yet reported it to us.”
