Our officers from the Abbey Safer Neighbourhood Team have arrested a man and a woman after a drug search at a house in Derby.

The team joined forces with the Uniformed Task Force to carry out the search under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a house in Harrison Street on Tuesday, May 9.

A quantity of what is believed to cannabis, along with other paraphernalia thought to be used in the supply of drugs, was seized.

A 33 year-old man and 21 year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of Possession of a Class B Drug with Intent to Supply.  They have both been interviewed and released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.

PC Viki Ellis, from the team, said: “A warrant to search the house was obtained from the Magistrates after we received intelligence from the community.  This shows that we will take action on receiving such intelligence as we realise that this type of behaviour can have an adverse effect on other crime levels and anti-social behaviour in the neighbourhood.”
