Officers from Abbey Safer Neighbourhood Team arrest man for suspected drug dealing

A 42 year old man was arrested yesterday, Monday December 14, on suspicion of possessing what was believed to be a quantity of cannabis with intent to supply at an address in the Stockbrook area of Derby

The arrest came as officers from the Abbey Safer Neighbourhood Team acted on community intelligence and searched a flat on Stockbrook Road, Derby. 

Sergeant Steve Todd from the team said: “We were very pleased to receive community intelligence regarding activity at this address and on the basis of this information attended court where a magistrate granted us a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

“A 42 year old man was arrested at the address and a quantity of what we believe to be cannabis seized. The man has been interviewed and bailed to re-attend the police station whilst the substance seized is analysed and identified.

“This action shows that where ever possible we will take positive action when we receive such information.”
