Our Safer Neighbourhood teams in Mickleover and Littleover are inviting residents to join them for a ‘Cuppa with a Copper’

The events are an opportunity for people in the area to meet the teams and discuss any policing issues in a more relaxed environment.

Sergeant Alex Wood, who is in charge of Safer Neighbourhood policing for the Derby suburbs, explained: “It is very important to us that we have a good understanding of the issues that are affecting people in the areas that we police.

“Of course we monitor crime and anti-social behaviour reports and attend incidents but sometimes it can be the smaller issues that build-up and cause a real problem for people.

“This is an opportunity for those living, working or visiting the area to pop-in, meet the team and have a talk about any policing issues that may be worrying them.

“We are holding the events in cafes in the community to make it easier for people to come and see us and we will even get the tea or coffee in for those that come and have a chat with us.”

The teams will be at the Ugly Duckling Coffee Shop, Normanton Lane, Littleover, between 11am and 1pm, tomorrow, Friday, February 2.

Then at Mickleover Community Centre, Uttoxeter Road, between 10am and 12 midday on Monday, February 5.

For more information contact the teams on 101. Alternatively send them a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website HERE.
