I am Sergeant Alex Wood and I am responsible for the Safer Neighbourhood teams that cover the Abbey, Mickleover, Littleover and Blagreaves areas.

Since joining Derbyshire police in 2006 I have worked as a patrol constable on Peartree and Erewash sections. I have also spent time on a plain clothed crime action group before joining the Safer Neighbourhood team in Long Eaton. Since my promotion in 2014 I have worked at Derby North for two years before supervising a large response team that covered the south of the county.

Having started my career in this area I am passionate about its policing. I believe that officers with local knowledge who work closely with the community can really make a difference. I am keen to make sure we are a visible presence in your area and I encourage you to provide us with information about the issues affecting you and your neighbourhood.

My team will utilise all our knowledge and experience to prevent and investigate criminality in this region. I am also committed to working closely with our partner agencies in order to tackle anti-social behaviour, find solutions to your concerns and ensure this remains a pleasant place to live, work and visit.
