A new Inspector has been appointed to be in charge of policing in the west of Derby, covering Normanton, Peartree, Mickleover, Littleover and Stockbrook areas of the city.

Inspector Becky Webster started in her new role last week and is already meeting members of the community.

Becky takes over the role from Inspector Ranjit Dol who has been promoted and is now working at the joint HQ in Ripley.

Inspector Webster, seen here pictured outside the police station in Peartree, said: “I am really looking forward to my new role. I have been with Derbyshire police for 18-years and all of my service has been in spent in and around Derby.

“We have a hard-working group of officers who are committed to serving the community. I am looking forward to being part of that team and getting to know the people living and working in the area.

“I have already held meetings with several key members of the community and know that we need to build on these relationships and develop others further.

“We can only continue to solve problems by working together and any police service needs the community to help it by coming forward and speaking to us, I welcome anyone coming and having a chat with the team here at Peartree.”
