Residents invited to property marking event in Borrowash and Breaston this weekend

Posted on 19th January 2015

Residents in Breaston and Borrowash are invited to a property marking event this weekend.

Officers from local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Teams are hosting two events in a bid to help local people secure personal items and to offer crime prevention advice where needed.

The first event will be held outside Borrowash Co-op on Victoria Avenue on Saturday, January 24 between 9.30 – 11.30am.

The second event will take place at The Green, Duffield Close in Breaston also on the same date between 1.30 – 3.30pm.

PC Colin Howitt said:” Events like this are a great opportunity for us to meet with our local community and chat to residents about the various steps that they can take to protect themselves from would-be-thieves.

“We will be offering free security marking and crime prevention advice and will be happy to discuss any further issues that people may have in relation to local policing.

“We hope to see as many people as possible during the day and encourage passers-by to come and say hello anyway and have a chat with your local officers.”

To speak to your local Safer Neighbourhood Team call 101, the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police.
