Cotmanhay and Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Team

Our officers from the Cotmanhay and Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Team are offering local residents and visitors a free ’Cuppa with a Copper’ at an event in the town.

Officers will be at the Ilkeston Community Hospital, Heanor Road, on Sunday, June 18 to speak to local residents and visitors about any concerns they have about policing in their area.

The event is part of a series of Street-Meets being held across the district to allow residents to meet the Safer Neighbourhood teams in less formal setting.

Sergeant Damien Shannon, who is in charge of the teams, said: "It is important that we meet with people in the communities to fully understand what worries them about crime and disorder. The teams are always out and about on their patch, however this gives residents a fixed time and place to come and have a chat if they have any particular worries."

The team will be in the main reception of the hospital between 2pm and 4pm.
