Our officers from the Cotmanhay and Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Team are going back to hospital to offer local residents and visitors a free ’Cuppa with a Copper’ at an event.

Officers will be at the Ilkeston Community Hospital, Heanor Road, on Monday, August 21 to speak to local residents and visitors about any concerns they have about policing in their area.

The event is the second of a series of Street-Meets being held at the hospital to allow residents to meet the Safer Neighbourhood teams in a less formal setting.

Sergeant Damien Shannon, who is in charge of the team, said: “These events have given us the opportunity to meet with people from the community to get to know what they are worried about and issues that they are experiencing.

“The setting is informal and allows people to come along and have a chat with us and we will even get the tea and coffee for anyone coming to speak to us.”

The team will be at the hospital between 1pm and 3pm.
