Motorist reported for driving offences as part of Safer Neighbourhood policing priority

Posted on 12th December 2013

Police stopped a driver and reported him for three vehicle offences as part of a crackdown on nuisance motorists.

Cotmanhay and Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Team has been focusing on the issue after it became a policing priority earlier in the year.

As part of the campaign, officers have been carrying out vehicle safety checks to make sure cars, vans and motorbikes are legal and roadworthy.

On Wednesday, December 11, officers from the team stopped a driver in Thatchmarsh Close, Ilkeston.

The vehicle - a Volkswagen Polo - was found to have two defective tyres and a defective brake light.

The driver, a 29-year-old man, was reported for summons for the three driving offences.

Anti-social driving is one of Cotmanhay and Shipley View Safer Neighbourhood Team’s current neighbourhood policing priorities.
