Ilkeston’s rural policing beat has a new officer patrolling the patch. Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Rob Stanesby replaces PC Russ Crooks who has moved over to Long Eaton.

The safer neighbourhood area covers West Hallam, Stanley Common, Dale Abbey, Morley, Breadsall, Stanley Village and Little Eaton.

PCSO Stanesby, who has been a PCSO in Kirk Hallam and Hallam Fields for the past year, said: “Russ was the safer neighbourhood officer for Ilkeston rural for some 15 years. I now have the pleasure of covering his rural beat, but realise I have big boots to fill. This area covers seven villages and many farms, I am looking forward to meeting as many people as I can. I have worked for the National Trust and Peak District National Park previously so I have a knowledge of many of the issues that people living in the area have.”
