Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeants

  • Sergeant 14092 Damien Shannon

I joined Derbyshire police in 2008 and have worked a variety of roles within Derby City at Derby North, Peartree and Cotton Lane Police Stations including being a Safer Neighbourhood officer. I intend to put that varied experience to good use here at Erewash. I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the summer of 2014 and worked at Cotton Lane Police Station as a response sergeant where I gained skills and experience that I will bring with me to my new role. I am looking forward to working closely with our communities and resolving issues that really matter to local residents.

My previous experience working in a safer neighbourhood team taught me the importance of partnership working and I fully intend to form strong links with our partners to provide an excellent service to our communities. My team will provide a visible presence and provide a proactive response to any threat and risk highlighted in order to minimalise criminal behaviour.

Erewash covers a large geographical area and I hope, by having your support and assistance, we can tackle criminality, anti-social behaviour and issues that really matter to you. We can’t do this without your help and information and in return we will keep you in touch with what we are doing including the use of social media and the internet.
