Friar's Court drug search

Two men were arrested yesterday in connection with alleged drug offences after a search by our Ilkeston Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The arrests came after the team conducted a drugs search on a flat in Friar’s Court, Ilkeston yesterday evening, Wednesday May 16.

Drugs, believed to be cocaine, cannabis and synthetic cannabinoids were seized, along with cash and various drug paraphernalia.

The two men, aged 32 and 26, were arrested and taken to St Mary’s Wharf Police Station in Derby where they were later interviewed. They have now been released under investigation.

Sergeant Damien Shannon, who is in charge of the team, said: “The search was conducted as a result of information provided to us from the community.

“The action shows we will always take positive action when we receive such intelligence as we realise the detrimental effect such activity has on local residents.
