Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood teams in Erewash have arrested three men after finding a suspected cannabis grow in Industrial units in Ilkeston.

The arrests came after officers conducted drug searches of three units at Kensington Business Park  on Friday December 2 and Saturday, December 3. Over 70 what are believed to be cannabis plants were found in the units along with around £50,000 cash.

A 34 year-old man from Bramcote and a 39 year-old man from Nottingham were arrested for drug and money laundering offences and a 44 year-old man from Beeston was arrested for production of cannabis. All three have been interviewed and are now on police bail whilst further enquiries are carried out.

PC Alex Hunt from the Larklands Safer Neighbourhood Team, who led the searches, said: “We are pleased with the result of the searches which were carried out as a result of intelligence received from the community.

“This type of activity is often linked to other criminality and anti-social behaviour that is of concern to people living in our neighbourhoods so we will always act when we receive such information.”
