Long Eaton Police ask for Witnesses after bike is stolen from the roof of a car

Posted on 31st October 2016

Police in Long Eaton are appealing for witnesses after a bike was stolen from the roof of a car parked in West Park in the town.

Sometime between 6.30pm and 7.00pm on Saturday, October 15 the bike, a ‘Giant Anyroad 1’ similar to the one pictured, was removed from the roof of a car parked in the car park of West Park Leisure Centre, Wilsthorpe Road, Long Eaton.

PCSO Matt Boyer from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team, who is investigating the incident, said “The bike was attached to a roof rack on the top of the car but the straps were cut and the bike removed.

“The bike is identifiable as the stem has been cut shorter so the owner’s son can use it. We would ask if anyone saw anything suspicious at the time or has been offered a similar bike to buy that they make contact with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Matt Boyer on 101 quoting occurrence number 16000324330. Alternatively, send him a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website here.
