As part of Hate Crime Awareness Week Ilkeston Safer Neighbourhood Team are holding a Street-Meet.

There will be advice and information about hate crime with a particular focus on learning disabilities and mental health.

Sergeant Damien Shannon, who is in charge of the team, said "This is an opportunity for residents and visitors to Erewash to come and meet the team and discuss hate crime issues in an informal setting.

"The team will be available to have a chat over a free cup of tea or coffee and whilst we are focussing on issues of learning disabilities and mental health, the team will be there to discuss any issue of hate crime.

"As part of a longer term 'legacy' we are also donating some relevant books to the library."
