Children at The Long Eaton School have been carrying out speed checks and speaking to motorists about safe driving.
They joined officers from the Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Teams to use the mobile speed detection device to catch drivers breaking the 30mph speed limit.
The year seven pupils carried out the speed watch on Wilne Road in Sawley and two vehicles were stopped for driving in excess of 30mph.
PCSO Matt Boyer from Sawley Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “The youngsters enjoyed helping us with the checks and were very well behaved. We hope the initiative will show motorists, who often don’t realise how fast they were travelling, how speeding could affect other members of the community.
