Officers from our Derby based vulnerability team have teamed up with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS) to explore how they can work together to protect the vulnerable.

Tammy Bell-Heather from the team met with members of Blue Watch at Nottingham Road Fire Station last week to explore how they can work more closely in identifying where members of the community are vulnerable to crime and harm.

She explained: “Both of our organisations have close contact with the communities we are serving. The meet up was to understand how we each safeguard the vulnerable and how we can hopefully work together in the future.

“Our Safer Neighbourhood teams are rooted in communities across the county and are ideally placed to identify when someone is at risk. We need to ensure that we are in a position to be sharing this information, where relevant, with our partners such as DFRS so they are best placed to use their skills to protect them and vice versa.”
