Residents of Hilton, Hatton and Etwall in South Derbyshire have two new officers patrolling the beat in the village.

PCSO Jamie Gutberlet has added to the number on the team having joined as a new officer after recently finishing his initial training at Derbyshire police HQ.

PC Joe Stafford, who has been a police officer since June 2014, joins the team from Swadlincote police station replacing PC Karen Martin who is heading in the opposite direction.

PC Stafford said about the move: “I am looking forward to the challenges of working as part of a Safer Neighbourhood team. I know the area well as I live very close and used to work at Etwall Leisure Centre as a personal trainer and swimming teacher.”

PCSO Jamie Gutberlet, who is 22 years of age and lives in South Derbyshire, said: “ I have wanted to join the police as a PCSO since I was at school. I am really looking forward to meeting members of the community and being able to help solve any policing issues that they have.

“I know that anti-social behaviour has been a problem in the village in the past and I am determined to work hard with the team to ensure that this problem does not return.”
