PC Joe Stafford
We would like to thank our social media followers who shared an appeal we made back in November last year for a witness to an incident in Hilton.
The appeal related to an incident that happened at 11.15pm on Tuesday, November 1 when we had reports of an alleged sexual exposure.
As a result of the appeal a witness came forward and we have now been able to charge a 40 year-old man from Ashbourne for the offence of exposure. He has also been charged with failing to stop for police following the circumstances of his arrest and will appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 8.
PC Joe Stafford from the Hilton, Hatton and Etwall Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are really grateful for all those that took the time to read our appeal and share it. It was a result of this that a witness came forward with information that has enabled us to charge a man who will now appear at court.
“This shows the good that comes from social media and why we use sites such as Facebook and Twitter to publicise our appeals.”
