Stills issued after purse theft in Hilton supermarket

Posted on 6th February 2017

Our officers from the Hilton Safer Neighbourhood Team have issued stills of three people they would like to speak to after a purse was stolen from a woman’s handbag.

The incident happened at the Aldi supermarket on Huntshill Road, Hilton at about 2.15pm on Thursday, December 8.

PCSO Kelly Horne, from the team, said: “We realise that this offence took place nearly two months ago but we are hoping that someone may recognise the people in the stills that we are now able to release.

“The lady who had her purse stolen felt she was distracted by another shopper claiming that her hand had been caught in one of the freezer doors. A short time later, the victim realised her purse had been taken from her bag.

“Although this type of offence is not common we would advise that shoppers remain vigilant of their belongings particularly if they are keeping handbags on shopping trollies whilst they are shopping.”

If you recognise anyone on the stills, please make contact with Kelly or the team on 101 quoting reference number 16000405217. Alternatively, send them a message online by visiting the Contact Us section of our website here.
