Posted on 7th September 2017

Our Safer Neighbourhood officers covering an area of Mickleover have issued advice after three garages were broken-in to on one night.

The incidents happened in the early hours of Monday, September 4 earlier this week when garages on Siskin Close and Duesbury Place on the old Pastures Hospital site were broken in to. Bike parts, tools and a petrol were stolen.

PCSO Jamie Gutberlet, from the Hilton, Hatton and Etwall Safer Neighbourhood Team that covers this part of Mickleover, said: “We want to make residents aware of the break-ins so they can take some precautions that would help prevent them becoming victims.”

Officers advise that:

  • All garage doors are locked and secured
  • In addition to locks that an alarm covering the garage is considered
  • That valuable property within the garage are separately locked with the use of a good quality padlock and chain
  • That property is security marked and registered on www.immobilise.com
