Hilton nursery children join the police for a morning

Posted on 17th May 2017

One of our Safer Neighbourhood officers has been visiting a nursery in Hilton and invited the children to ‘join the police’ for the morning.

PCSO Jamie Gutberlet from the Hilton, Hatton and Etwall Safer Neighbourhood Team visited the Darcy Bunnies Nursery in the village this morning (Wednesday, May 17) and invited the children to dress up in police uniform and use the blue lights and sirens in the police car.

The visit was arranged to speak to the pre-school aged children about what the police do and how they are there to help the children

PCSO Gutberlet said: “The visit went very well with the children loving climbing through the police car and trying on different pieces of uniform. The visit was to show the children what job we do and hopefully give them the confidence to approach a police officer if they feel they are in trouble and need help.”
