One of our rural crime officers in South Derbyshire is appealing for witnesses after two dead badgers and foxes were found dumped, having apparently being shot dead.

The gruesome find (pictured) was made last week, on the morning of Wednesday, October 3, on Uttoxeter Road, between Hay Lane and Cuplow Lane, Foston near to the A50.

Pc Paul Russell, South Derbyshire Rural Crime Officer, said: “It is clear that the animals had recently been shot and taken to this location to be dumped.

“We believe that they had been carried in the ‘blue rubble bags’ found with the animals.

“We are appealing for anyone who knows anything about it, or may have seen anything suspicious in this area between 5pm, Tuesday, October 2 and 11am, Wednesday, October 3, to make contact with me.”

If you have any information, please contact Paul using one of the following non-emergency contact methods.
