One of our officers in Etwall, South Derbyshire is appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was punched in the face by a runner.

The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Monday, February 19 on Old Station Close in the village.

The boy and his friend were on bikes on the close when they were involved in an altercation with the runner who then allegedly punched him in the face, causing a split lip that required five stiches.

The runner was described as a white man, aged between 40-50 years, around 6’ tall with grey hair. He was said to be wearing white running shoes with a red/pink hooded top and dark coloured bottoms.

The alleged assault is being investigated by PC Caroline Holt who is keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or recognises the description of the runner.
