South Derbyshire police issue pictures after graffiti daubed over Swadlincote school

Posted on 13th June 2017

Our officers from the Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team have released a picture of a group of people, after graffiti was daubed throughout school grounds in the town.

It is believed that the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, June 1, when graffiti was daubed over several buildings, table tennis tables and sports courts within the grounds of Granville Sports College, Burton Road in Woodville, Swadlincote.

Sergeant Graham Summers, who is in charge of the team, said: “This does seem to be an act of pure vandalism in a school that plays an important part in the community. Most the images of the graffiti were too graphic for us to show and although the images are childish in nature, the image of the people we would like to speak to appears to be of rather older individuals.

“I realise that it is going to be difficult to recognise anyone in the picture, however we thought it may be useful to release it along with a plea for anyone who may know anything about this damage to make contact with us.

If you think you can help with information about those responsible, please call the team on 101 quoting reference number 17000234623.
