The Pipeworks, Swadlincote

One of our officers from Swadlincote is asking for witnesses to an assault that is alleged to have happened in the town before Christmas.

The incident happened outside Argos, The Pipeworks at around 3pm on Friday, December 15.

The 25 year-old male victim had just made a purchase in the shop when he was approached outside the store by two men. They started punching him, causing him to fall to the floor where he was then kicked.

The alleged assault has caused bruising to the victim’s eye socket and eye.

PC Ian Morley, who is investigating the incident, said: “The area was busy at the time as it was a Friday afternoon on the run up to Christmas.

“It would really help if anyone saw the incident that they make contact with me to help trace the suspects”.

The two men, who were both said to be carrying tan coloured suitcases, are described as follows:

  • White man, aged between 35 and 50 years, around 5’ 7”, bald head, wearing a blue puffa-style jacket and speaking with a local accent.
  • White man, aged between 18 and 24 years, around 5’ 5”, blonde/brown hair, wearing a black shirt and jeans.
