South Derbyshire cops appeal for information after series of damage to windows in Woodville

Our officers in the Woodville Safer Neighbourhood Team are appealing for information after a series of smashed windows in the village.

Over the last few weeks damage has been caused to three windows of houses and flats on Rose Hill in Woodville with what appear to be ball bearings fired from a catapult type device.

The first damage was caused in the early hours of Friday, April 13, another window was then damaged at around 10.30am on the morning of Saturday, April 28 and the latest damage was caused at around 7pm on Sunday, May 20.

The incidents are being investigated by PCSO Ed Johnson from the team, who said: “The damage has caused inconvenience and cost to the occupants of the premises but of course it is also dangerous, as on each occasion glass has been shattered.

“The damage seems completely motiveless and I would ask that if anyone knows anything about the incidents that they make contact with me.

“We would also urge that parents and guardians of young people with such catapults ensure that they are aware of how and where they are being used.”

If you have any information about this incident please contact Ed on 101, quoting reference number 18*165783
