Swad Market event

Our Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood policing team have gone on the market.

Before we start worrying anyone about the privatisation of policing in South Derbyshire, they have set up a stall on the town’s Friday market.

Once a month, starting last week on September 28, the team will be on the market talking to shoppers, traders and visitors about policing issues in the town.

Sergeant Graham Summers, who is in charge of the team, said: “We are really grateful to South Derbyshire District Council, the organisers of the market, for allowing us to be part of the Friday market.

“It’s a busy day in Swadlincote and this gives us a big opportunity to talk to lots of people about crime prevention or anything that that they may be worried about.

“Swadlincote and the surrounding areas are safe places to live and visit and we are determined that they remain so, it’s only by talking to people in the area and getting an understanding of their concerns that we can help to keep it that way.”

The team will be on the market on the following dates up to Christmas:

Friday, October 19

Friday, November 23

Friday, December 21

For more information, or if you want to talk to the team, contact them using one of the following non-emergency contact methods.
