One of our Safer Neighbourhood officers has released CCTV footage after a sat nav was stolen from a car parked overnight on the driveway of a house in Stenson Fields.

The incident happened at about 3.45am in the morning of Saturday, August 26 on Mallow Close. The CCTV footage shows someone trying car doors on the street and on finding a door unlocked enters the car before being disturbed and running off.

Insp Kate Bateman, who is in charge of policing for South Derbyshire says: “We realise the footage is not that clear but would ask that if anyone does recognise the suspect that they make contact with us.

“The footage also shows the importance of ensuring that you always lock your car and remove any valuables, the suspect can clearly be seen trying other car doors before finding this door open and then removing the sat nav.”

If you think you know the person in the footage please contact PCSO Emma Guest on 101 quoting reference number 17000365534
