Officers ask motorists in Repton to park with consideration

Posted on 8th July 2014

Officers from the Mercia Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team are urging motorists to be considerate following reports of problem parking in the Repton area.

Local residents in Repton Village have raised concerns about motorists parking in Repton High Street and parking in such a manner as to cause obstruction for pedestrians and access roads.

PCSO Claire North from the team said: “The high street is obviously a busy area of Repton with many pedestrians and their safety is paramount.

“We urge residents to park with consideration for the local shoppers and those who need access to private driveways and business premises.”

Officers from the local policing team will be heading out on increased patrols in the area at key times and will be speaking to drivers about the importance of safe and considerate driving to help keep the roads safe for motorists and pedestrians.

“A warning will be given and a ticket will be issued if the warning is ignored.”

PCSO North continued:”We are inviting residents to contact us to tell us about the problems and to suggest possible solutions.”
