Police in South Derbyshire conduct drug search at a flat in Newhall.

Officers from the Newhall and Midway Safer Neighbourhood Team have conducted a drug search this week on a flat in Newhall. 

The action was taken on Tuesday, March 6 after intelligence was received from the community, regarding suspicious activity at the flat on Chrysanthemum Court. 

A quantity, of what is believed to be Class A and Class B drugs, were seized by the team and a 30-year-old man has been questioned on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with intent to supply. The man has now been released under investigation. 

PC Kev Cassidy, from the team, said: “The action shows that we will always listen to our communities, the concerns they have and will take positive action.”
