A man has been found guilty of the manslaughter of Derby father Oliver Falivena.Oliver Falivena

Richard Last has this afternoon been found guilty by a jury at Derby Crown Court. He will be sentenced at the same court tomorrow.

Last punched Mr Falivena during an altercation on Derby’s Market Place on Monday, August 29 2016. The 22-year-old fell to the floor and hit his head, causing brain injuries.

He was taken to hospital but he died days later on Tuesday, September 6.

Last (32), of Bridgeside Way, Spondon, pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and had said he acted in self-defence.

Mr Falivena, of Alvaston, leaves a partner and young daughter.
