Ilkeston Rape/Attempted Murder

In the early hours of Sunday, November 26, a woman was walking along Queens Avenue, Ilkeston, when she was approached by a man.

The man dragged her across the road and she was raped. Officers from the East Midlands Major Crime Team are now treating the investigation as an attempted murder.

The man was described as white, 5' and 7-8" tall, between 35-45 years-old, of a medium build and was wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood worn up and the lower part of his face covered. This investigation was named Op Rosebank.

On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, almost 4-and-a-half months after the attack, a man was arrested in relation to this investigation. The day after, Anthony Dealey (42) of Erewash Square, Ilkeston, was charged with attempted murder, rape, robbery and sexual assault. The charges all related to the incident that took place on Queens Avenue.

The video features actors/actresses and shows the victim getting off the R2 bus on Nottingham Road, walking along Manners Street and then onto Queens Avenue. The attacker grabbed the woman on the corner of Middleton Avenue.
