Police seek man who chopped down preserved trees

Police are seeking a man who cut down specially preserved trees in Birch Vale.

Between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday, April 29, a man was seen cutting down trees in a large wooded area at the Thornsett Trading Estate.

The trees are the subject of a Tree Preservation Order, which are issued to protect woodland from deliberate damage or destruction.

He cut down several large trees and loaded them onto a white flat bed pick-up truck.
