Witnesses sought after two men are assaulted in a Long Eaton club

Posted on 27th August 2013

Police are trying to trace people who were at a Long Eaton night club when two men were assaulted.

A 22-year-old man and his 43-year-old uncle were in the smoking area outside Manhattans, in Clifford Street, when they walked past two men who were having an argument.

They tried to intervene but the uncle was headbutted by one man, who then punched the nephew in the head. The younger man suffered a fractured skull and lumps, cuts and bruises to his face and head.

His uncle suffered a cut to his forehead.

They have described the man who attacked them as white, tall and of large build. He wore a pink t-shirt.

A 21-year-old Ilkeston man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail while inquiries continue.

Although some customers who were in the club at the time have come forward to speak to police, officers believe that some witnesses may still be outstanding.

The assaults happened at around 2.40am on Saturday, July 27.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
