Man arrested in connection with Buxton takeaway robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a takeaway in Buxton.

The 21-year-old man, who is from the town, has been arrested on suspicion of robbing Khomkhai Thai takeaway, in Scarsdale Place.

He has been questioned and released on bail while the investigation continues.

At about 9pm on Monday, August 26 a man walked into the takeaway, went behind the counter and tried to take money from the till.

The female owner came out of the kitchen when she heard a noise and saw him at the till. She hit him on his back but he pushed her aside, grabbed cash and ran off. She saw him run down South Street and Market Street before she lost sight of him.
