Pensioner seriously injured following Chesterfield collision

Police are appealing for information after a pensioner suffered serious injuries following a collision in Chesterfield.

At approximately 10.50am on Friday, December 13 an 81-year-old pedestrian was struck by a bus on Churchside, Hasland, near to the bus stop outside the cemetery. 

The man suffered serious spinal and head injuries and was taken to the Northern General Hospital by air ambulance. He remains in hospital.

The bus was the number 54 Clay Cross to Chesterfield Stagecoach service.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Derbyshire police on 101.
