Man seriously injured in A50 collision

Posted on 27th December 2013

Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured after his car overturned on the A50 on Boxing Day.

At around 4pm on Thursday, December 26 a red Mazda left the road and collided with a lamp post before rolling onto its roof on the A50 westbound carriageway at junction two, Shardlow.

The driver, a 33-year-old man who was the only occupant, was released from the car by the fire service and taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham with serious injuries.

It would appear at this time that there was no other vehicle involved.

Any witnesses are asked to call Derbyshire Police on 101.
