Man robbed in Wellington Street, Long Eaton

Posted on 20th February 2013

Police in Long Eaton are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that occurred on Wellington Street in the town in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday February 20).

Just after 12.30am a 29-year-old man, who was holding a black draw string work bag, got out of his car on Wellington Street.

Two men ran up to him, threatened him with a small knife and demanded his bag.  He dropped the bag which they picked up and they ran off in the direction of Derby Road.

The bag contained nothing more than work clothes and officers believe the offenders may have dumped it somewhere nearby.

One suspect is described as white, in his early to mid 20s, 5 ft 9–10ins tall and of average build. He wore dark trousers, a black hooded top and gloves and was carrying a pen-knife style knife.

The second man was of similar height and was wearing dark clothing with dark hooded top.

Anyone with information or who finds the bag should contact DC Denise Sandall on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
