Two people killed in serious collision on the A50

Two people have died following a collision on the A50.

At approximately 8.50pm on Saturday, July 6 a collision involving a car and a lorry took place on the A50 eastbound between Chellaston and Aston-on-Trent. 

A blue Peugeot 206 lost control and left the dual carriageway colliding with the lorry, which was parked in a lay by.

Two passengers from the Peugeot, a 57-year-old man and a woman aged 50, suffered fatal injuries.

The 25-year-old female driver and a 25-year-old male passenger were taken to Royal Derby Hospital after suffering minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
