Witnesses sought to Normanton affray

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of affray following a fight in a Normanton street.

Police were called to St James Road at around 12.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, June 19) following reports of a fight.

They found that a 19-year-old man had suffered a head injury and a stab wound to his body. He was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for treatment, where he remains in a stable condition.

Four men, aged 18, 19, 24 and 32 were arrested and questioned. The 24-year-old has been released without charge while the 32-year-old and the 18-year-old have been bailed while inquiries continue. The 19-year-old remains in custody.
