Appeal after man is threatened at his South Normanton home

Posted on 25th June 2013

Detectives are appealing for information after a group of men smashed the door on a South Normanton house and threatened the occupants.

At around midday on Saturday, June 22 four men knocked on the door of a house on Peel Street.

One of the occupants, a 28-year-old man, came to the window. The men demanded money so the occupant refused to open the door.

The men then kicked through a panel on the door and threatened the victim with what appeared to be a handgun. The victim called police and the men left.

Two of the offenders were white men and two were black men.

One of the white men was between 20 and 30-years-old, of a large build, with ginger hair. The two black men were both in their 20s, over six feet tall and of a muscular build.

A man and woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further inquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Amber Valley CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
